LevelUp recently announced that it will be expanding its mobile payment processing services by integrating with three major POS makers - MICROS, POSitouch and Dinerware, Mobile Payments Today reports. Previously, the LevelUp payment processing mobile application had only functioned on LevelUp's payment terminals, with other models unable to scan the 2D barcodes. However, with the integration, merchants and retailers using one of the aforementioned point of sale terminals will not have to install new equipment to accept LevelUp transactions. According to the news source, the three payment processing firms owned 30 per cent of all POS systems on the market.
As an added bonus, merchants who opted to switch to accept LevelUp transactions will gain access to a host of marketing and analytics tools. Using the data aggregated by these various tools, merchant retailers will be able to more effectively and efficiently track their payment processing metrics.
"Our strategy is to seamlessly work with the existing systems our merchants use everyday, so LevelUp not only becomes easy for the consumer to use, but also ultra-simple for the merchant to introduce," Christina Dorobek, LevelUp's VP of Partner Development said in a statement. "LevelUp brings real value in the form of campaigns, and now merchants will easily be able to track this data within their existing POS system."
This follows on the startup's recent trend of targeting merchant conveniences. The company recently released its payment platform as a white label solution, according to Mobile Payments Today. This meant that retailers were able to access LevelUp's infrastructure to run their own customizable loyalty and payment programs. By focusing on merchants and retailers, LevelUp is likely to gain a wider following for its mobile payment processing services.
