GoPaGo Live recently released an app that provides a more cost-effective alternative to cash registers for small- to medium-sized merchants and retail outlets, according to Know Your Cell. The system includes an Android tablet stand that comes complete with a cash box, a credit card reader, a printer and the necessary software. Using it, merchants can handle payment processing for all transactions with the need to install point of sale terminals.
"We think GoPaGo Live will turn the payment industry on its head," CEO and founder Leo Rocco said in a statement. "This is so much more than POS. It's a total solution for brick-and-mortar business owners. We're redefining and resetting the bar for modernizing business payments and loyalty programs."
By connecting to increasingly mobile consumers through the accompanying application, merchants on the system will be open to a wealth of new opportunities. These include the ability for customers to make orders ahead of time via their mobile devices. Additionally, merchants can utilize the real-time connectivity of the app to push out special discounts and insider loyalty deals.
Another aspect of the GoPaGo Live system that has merchants excited is the printer connected to the Android tablet device. While many mobile payment systems are limited in their data analytics, merchants on this network can be provided with advanced reports they can subsequently print out for further analysis.
Other merchants and users have employed the GoPaGo system creatively to great effect in expanding brands and customer bases. According to Niners Nation, Vernon Davis, a National Football League star for the San Francisco 49ers, recently announced a partnership with the payment processing provider. Davis, in conjunction with the company, will be issuing a $10 credit to followers who like his Facebook page or follow him on Twitter. Eligible users will receive the credit, which can be claimed at more than 100 restaurants in the San Francisco Bay Area located within the GoPaGo Live system.
Earlier in the summer, Tim Lincecum, a pitcher for the San Francisco Giants, had launched a similar "fan appreciation" program with the company. The partnerships between GoPaGo and popular athletes in the Bay Area is a mutually beneficial one. Athletes get to thank their fans while acquiring new ones, and the company will be exposed to a whole new set of potential customers.
